MS adding Avatars to old XBLA titles
How to...
Avatars may be a new thing - these colourful characters arriving today via the New Xbox Experience - but that doesn't mean nothing supports the new feature yet.
Apparently, Microsoft inform us it is in fact possible to add these critters to old Xbox Live Arcade games, the Gamerscore blog confirming that Uno will add Avatars automatically.
Hardwood Hearts, Hardwood Spades and Bomberman Live also support Avatars, but you'll need to pull off a few tricks to make them work.
You'll need to download the title update, and you'll also have to accept the continued download of new features, which will make Avatars work.
"For most users, there will be a checkmark next to the full game download option," reads the new update. "This is okay, as a re-download of the package is necessary in order to enable the new features."
NXE is available now.
